About the position

The Mortgage Loan Officer III (MLO III) is an outside sales position focused on increasing Texell's Purchase and Refinance loan production. This role involves developing business referrals, attracting mortgage customers, completing loan applications, and ensuring effective communication throughout the loan process. The position offers a hybrid/remote work environment for candidates residing in Texas, with a competitive compensation structure that includes uncapped commission.

Responsibilities

  • Attract existing and new mortgage loan referral sources by managing and developing relationships.
  • Participate in community efforts to promote home ownership.
  • Work with Mortgage Loan Processors/Closers and Mortgage Manager to ensure timely processing of loan documents.
  • Communicate with borrowers, agents, and processors on the status of loan files.
  • Attend mortgage loan closings and meet with prospective borrowers.
  • Interview mortgage prospects and obtain initial needs list items to complete the loan application.
  • Review and analyze credit and financial data to determine borrower financing objectives and goals.
  • Present appropriate Texell products and programs to borrowers.
  • Explain pricing and lock rate as required.
  • Identify opportunities to sell additional products.
  • Collect supporting loan documentation as required and upload it into the Mortgage Loan Origination Software.
  • Keep Mortgage Loan Manager updated on the status of the pipeline and any obstacles to a quality loan experience.
  • Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional organizations.
  • Perform other functions and special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of mortgage loan origination experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of inside/outside sales experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or two years of progressive experience in lending-related roles.
  • Experience with Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Veterans Affairs (VA), and Federal National Mortgage (Fannie Mae).
  • Active registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System throughout employment.
