About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Mortgage Loan Officer to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, credit analysis, and underwriting, with a passion for numbers and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. This role involves evaluating credit worthiness, analyzing financial statuses, and guiding clients through the loan application process while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate credit worthiness by processing loan applications and documentation within specified limits
• Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients to understand their financial needs and to offer the best loan products
• Guide customers through the loan application process, ensuring all necessary information is collected
• Ensure compliance with fair housing regulations and other legal requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field
• Proven work experience as a Loan Officer or similar role
• Knowledge of accounting software, financial software, and mathematical skills
• Familiarity with credit analysis, underwriting procedures, and escrow processes
• Ability to negotiate terms and conditions effectively
• Strong understanding of Fair Housing regulations
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
