About the position

As a Mortgage Loan Officer at Old Missouri Bank, you will play a crucial role in guiding mortgage applicants and borrowers through the entire mortgage approval process. This includes assisting clients from the initial preparation of their loan applications all the way through to the closing of their loans. You will be expected to possess a comprehensive understanding of various mortgage types, as you will be licensed by both state and national authorities. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that clients receive the best possible advice and support throughout their mortgage journey. The position is based at our primary location in Lenexa, KS, and operates on a full-time schedule, typically from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. However, you should be prepared for potential overtime and weekend work, especially during peak loan volume periods. This role requires a commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining strong communication with clients, as well as a solid grasp of banking operations and documentation processes. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also be expected to proactively cross-sell bank products and services, enhancing the overall customer experience and contributing to the bank's growth. Your ability to multi-task and stay organized will be vital in managing the various aspects of the loan process effectively. Responsibilities

  • Guide mortgage applicants through the mortgage approval process from application to closing.
  • Assist clients in preparing loan applications and provide necessary documentation.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of various mortgage types, including FHA, VA, and conventional loans.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong communication with clients throughout the loan process.
  • Proactively cross-sell bank products and services to enhance customer experience.
  • Manage multiple tasks and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of prior experience in lending or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of banking operations, documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Effective multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Veterans Affairs (VA), Federal National Mortgage (Fannie Mae), and other types of loans.
