About the position

The Mortgage Loan Officer at Zillow Home Loans plays a crucial role in transforming the consumer mortgage experience by focusing on customer service and relationship building. This position is part of a rapidly growing origination team that provides leads on-demand, allowing officers to concentrate on client interactions rather than marketing. The role involves originating mortgage loans, managing customer inquiries, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while delivering exceptional service throughout the loan process.

Responsibilities

  • Originate mortgage loans
  • Answer and manage incoming calls from customers
  • Provide exceptional customer service through timely follow up and courteous professional correspondence
  • Establish and build relationships with customers and partners such as real estate agents
  • Analyze clients' needs to ensure compliance and maximum customer satisfaction
  • Consult with borrowers and guide them through the loan process from inquiry to close
  • Ensure successful completion of all assigned Mortgage Loan Officer Training and Licensing activities
  • Understand and comply with current requirements of applicable federal and state laws and regulations
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of available loan programs including FHA, VA, Conventional, ARM, Jumbo, etc.
  • Successfully structure loans for fulfillment partners to underwrite, process, and fund
  • Collaborate with team members and share best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Active NMLS Loan Originator with multiple state licenses, or a Loan Originator working under a bank license
  • Successfully completed the 20-hr SAFE Pre-licensing Education and passed the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test - National Component with Uniform State Content
  • 1+ years of mortgage sales experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of sales, call center, and customer service experience
  • Associates or Bachelors degree
  • Financial/business background
  • Passionate about client relationships and consultative selling
  • Confident working in a phone sales environment
