About the position

The Mortgage Loan Officer at West Community Credit Union is responsible for proactively soliciting new mortgage business and selling credit union products to meet loan quality and production goals. This role supports the strategic effort to grow the mortgage business through the origination of long-term real estate mortgage loans while delivering exceptional service to members and potential members. The officer conducts pre-qualification interviews, prepares loan application packages, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively solicit new mortgage business and sell West Community Credit Union products.
  • Conduct initial pre-qualification interviews and prepare complete loan application packages.
  • Convey policies for extension of credit in accordance with Credit Union and Secondary Market investor guidelines.
  • Meet mortgage loan scheduling and documentation requirements, and production expectations as determined by the Vice President of Consumer and Mortgage Lending.
  • Serve members, prospective members, builders, developers, and Realtors promptly and professionally.
  • Perform duties in compliance with regulatory requirements including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Assist Mortgage Loan personnel as necessary.

  • Registered under the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO).
  • Understanding of determining credit worthiness.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union loan policies, products, procedures, processing, and underwriting guidelines.
