About The Position

The position involves originating quality residential mortgage loans by establishing a solid referral base and cross-selling the Bank's products and lending services. The role requires maintaining relationships with various referral sources and promoting the Bank's residential products to generate new mortgage business, ensuring compliance with banking laws and regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; some college preferred.
• 3 years of residential lending sales experience.
• Knowledge of secondary market experience.
• Superior sales skills.
• Knowledge of laws pertaining to mortgages.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal/written).
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a network of outside & inside referral sources for mortgage referrals.
• Promotes the Bank's residential products by maintaining regular contact with referral sources.
• Originates mortgage loans and pre-qualifies borrowers.
• Counsels prospective buyers to determine needs and match with appropriate Bank program.
• Ensures quality and timeliness of mortgage application documentation.
• Follows up with applicants for information as needed.
• Continuously monitors personal pipeline and manages expected closing dates.
• Provides timely and accurate information to borrowers, closing agents, real estate brokers, and appraisers.
• Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank's mortgage and other products and services.
• Plans, coordinates, and participates in activities that promote homeownership.
• Maintains community involvement by serving on boards of organizations.
• Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies.
