About the position

The Mortgage Loan Processing position requires a paralegal background to ensure the accuracy and compliance of residential loan documentation. The role involves direct communication with various stakeholders to correct mortgage loan documents and evaluate credit decisions based on established risk parameters. This position also includes responsibilities related to fraud detection, data organization, and internal control management.

Responsibilities

• Examine residential loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company and investor standards.
• Follow up with customers, title companies, loan coordinators, underwriters, loan officers, and servicing personnel to correct mortgage loan documents.
• Evaluate credit decisions for accuracy based on established risk parameters and policy guidelines.
• Provide feedback to business partners as appropriate.
• Assist with fraud detection and prevention.
• Provide analytical and administrative support within an internal control environment.
• Assist the team in gathering and organizing data to track, report, and manage internal control gap issues and mitigation plans.
• Review Loan Modification decisions for completeness and accuracy.
• Conduct file reviews including document review, income calculations, coding, and decision accuracy.
• Review, track, and follow up on outstanding final documents and exceptions found with title companies.

Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• High School Diploma.
• College Degree or prior mortgage experience.
• Attention to detail.
• Prior banking or mortgage experience preferred.
