About The Position
The Mortgage Loan Processor performs a variety of duties both clerical and technical; major responsibilities include coordinating the processing of mortgage loans following application, through preparation of loan documents for closing. Additional duties include ordering and reviewing all documentation, such as verification of income, verification of employment, credit report, appraisal, survey, title commitment, etc. The processor contacts borrowers and other sources to collect necessary documentation and acts as a liaison between origination staff, underwriters, outside escrow, title company, and customers. They check information submitted by loan applicants for accuracy and adherence to established underwriting criteria and regulations, and work with the processing team to ensure files are moving through the system. The processor checks loan files to ensure that they contain all necessary documents, signatures, dates, and other important information, while also building and maintaining relationships with clients to ensure a constant pipeline of mortgage files.
