About the position

The Mortgage Operations Manager at Black Hills Federal Credit Union is responsible for overseeing the processing and servicing functions within the Mortgage Operations Department. This role involves supervising a team, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting the department within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the mortgage loan processing and servicing functions from application through closing.
  • Establish, enhance, and maintain an effective team environment within the Mortgage Department.
  • Direct, motivate, hire, and coach mortgage operations personnel; administer performance appraisals.
  • Attend, facilitate, and/or schedule meetings and training for the team.
  • Ensure administrative and operations compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to BHFCU, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Promote the Mortgage Department within the Credit Union and the community.
  • Support and maintain relationships established by loan officers with members, real estate agents, and builders.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain high performance levels in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in mortgage operations or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to mortgage operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with performance appraisals and team training.
  • Familiarity with the Bank Secrecy Act and compliance requirements.
