About the position

The Mortgage Post Closer position at SRP Federal Credit Union involves ensuring the accuracy and compliance of closed loan files, processing secondary market loans, and providing exceptional customer service. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to various regulatory guidelines while promoting Credit Union services to members.

Responsibilities

  • Continuous training to expand knowledge for effective job performance.
  • Sell and cross-sell Credit Union services to current and potential members using a member benefit-based approach.
  • Comply with all Credit Union policies, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and OFAC Policies.
  • Provide files for post-funding control reviews as required by secondary market guidelines.
  • Review closed loan files to ensure all documents are present, correct, and compliant with policies and guidelines.
  • Process, prepare, and ship secondary market loans to investors for purchase/funding.
  • Clear and upload all funding/post-closing conditions on time to avoid cure fees.
  • Process purchased loans and send appropriate notifications to involved parties.
  • Register, track, and transfer servicing of investor loans in MERS.
  • Work closely with attorneys and mortgage personnel to resolve post-closing issues.
  • Receipt and track closed loan packages from attorneys for efficient post-closing/shipping.
  • Pay VA/FHA Fees, reconcile accounts, and submit FHA files for endorsement while ensuring compliance with guidelines.
  • Ship loans to Mortgage Insurance Companies for MI Approval and Insurance/Quality Control.
  • Track recorded mortgages and final title policies, forwarding to investors when required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 or more years of related mortgage experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work courteously and effectively with others.
  • Ability to input data accurately into computer systems.
  • Ability to manage personal workflow and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Experience with Encompass system preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer/member service.
  • Experience in mortgage processing.
