About the position

The Mortgage Post Closing Team Lead at Fidelity Bank is responsible for overseeing a team of Post Closers, ensuring compliance with company policies and efficient management of the post-closing pipeline. This role includes training and mentoring team members, monitoring loan documentation, and serving as the primary contact for resolving issues with investors. The Team Lead will also perform post-closing duties as needed, ensuring timely insurance of loans and adherence to quality metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor all Post Closers, providing initial and ongoing training as needed.
  • Assign files to the post-closing team to ensure a balanced workload.
  • Motivate and coach the team to meet established company quality metrics.
  • Review and ensure the quality of files, including electronic stacking and scanning to investor specifications.
  • Reconcile daily investor exception reports and determine necessary documentation to clear conditions.
  • Locate missing documentation and contact appropriate parties to obtain it.
  • Communicate with investors to clarify information and resolve issues, including escalating to supervisors when necessary.
  • Review and obtain purchase advice for the accounting department.
  • Prioritize workload based on rate lock expiration and delivery deadlines, communicating issues requiring management intervention.
  • Ensure timely insurance of FHA, VA, and USDA loans with appropriate agencies and payment of MI premiums.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Post Closing, Processing, Underwriting, or Closing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Encompass preferred.
