About the position

The Motor Transport Operator Course (MTOC) Instructor is responsible for delivering comprehensive training to military personnel on the operation of tactical vehicles. This role requires the instructor to effectively convey course material through various teaching methods, including lectures, demonstrations, and practical exercises. The instructor must ensure that all students are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate military vehicles safely and efficiently. The MTOC Instructor will also be responsible for maintaining a safe training environment and ensuring that all equipment is in good working order. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the MTOC Instructor must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or be able to obtain one within 45 days of starting the position. The instructor should have a minimum of one year of experience in teaching or instructing in an adult education setting, with a preference for candidates who have two years of experience specifically in military Drivers Training. The role requires excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to analyze situations, and the capability to recommend effective solutions. The MTOC Instructor will also be expected to become certified in various training programs as designated by the government, including the CFD-IC and ISCTC certifications. This position demands outstanding verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with students and convey complex information clearly. The instructor must be a high school graduate or possess a General Education Diploma (GED).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive training on the operation of tactical vehicles to military personnel.
  • Utilize various teaching methods, including lectures, demonstrations, and practical exercises, to convey course material effectively.
  • Maintain a safe training environment and ensure all equipment is in good working order.
  • Analyze situations and recommend effective solutions to problems that arise during training.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 45 days of starting the position.
  • Become certified in CFD-IC and ISCTC training programs as designated by the government.
  • Communicate effectively with students, providing clear instructions and feedback.

Requirements

  • Must have previously held a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or have previous military driver's equivalence.
  • Minimum of one year of experience teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or other industrial establishment.
  • Preferred at least two years' experience in teaching or instructing military Drivers Training.
  • Must hold a valid Class A CDL or have the ability to acquire one within 45 days of starting the position.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations and recommend solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills necessary to perform all tasks.
