About the position
Goldbelt Apex, LLC is seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic to perform routine and non-scheduled services on military equipment, ensuring operational readiness and safety. The role involves documentation of services, transportation of equipment using military and commercial vehicles, and operating heavy machinery such as a 50,000lb forklift. The mechanic will also provide training on vehicle operation and maintenance, contributing to the overall efficiency of the team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine scheduled and non-scheduled services on a variety of military equipment.
- Document services and request repair parts utilizing Army systems.
- Utilize military and commercial Class A vehicles to transport equipment.
- Operate a 50,000lb forklift (KALMAR) to position, load, and offload material.
- Serve as a member of the spill response team.
- Provide training to staff and students on the operation and maintenance requirements of organic site vehicles and equipment.
Requirements
- ASE certified Diesel Mechanic at time of hiring or two years recent experience as an Army wheeled vehicle mechanic (91B), with one year having served within unit-level operations or civilian equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have CDL within 180 days of hire.
- Must maintain CDL for the duration of the contract.
- Forklift certified or certified within 180 days of hire.
- Be capable of being certified on 50,000LB FORKLIFT (KALMAR) within 180 days of hire.
