About the position

The Motor Vehicle Operator position involves driving various types of motor vehicles, primarily passenger buses, to transport individuals and materials safely. The role requires adherence to traffic laws and basic vehicle maintenance, ensuring the safe delivery of passengers and goods.

Responsibilities

• Drive a variety of motor vehicles including automobiles, buses, and trucks.
• Transport people, materials, and equipment safely.
• Post manifests and records of goods and people transported.
• Map routes, itineraries, and points of call.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance such as changing oil, spark plugs, and tires.
• Wash vehicles and ensure they are fueled and ready for operation.
• Replace lamp bulbs and perform simple automotive repairs.

Requirements

• Must possess a New York State Drivers License, specifically a CDL Class B license with Passenger Endorsement.
• Knowledge of the Vehicle and Traffic Law as it applies to vehicle operation.
• Ability to physically operate assigned vehicles as required.
• Ability to lift and carry crates, cartons, boxes, and other cargo.

Benefits

• Annual salary range from $37,121 to $45,864.
• Additional $3,400 annual location pay.
