The Motor Vehicle Operator position at the John L. Norris Addiction Treatment Center involves driving a variety of motor vehicles both on and off State property to transport people, materials, and equipment as required. The role includes plowing snow from roadways and parking lots, mapping routes, and managing cargo. The operator is responsible for routine maintenance of the vehicles, which includes changing oil, spark plugs, tires, and washing vehicles. Additionally, the operator may operate and maintain motorized equipment in support of maintenance, grounds, or building trades crews.

Responsibilities

• Drive a variety of motor vehicles both on and off State property.
• Transport people, materials, and equipment as required.
• Plow snow from roadways and parking lots.
• Map routes, itineraries, and points of call.
• Move or carry cargo onto, into, off of, or out of the vehicle operated.
• Post manifests, inventories, and other records of goods and people transported.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles operated.
• Change oil, spark plugs, and tires.
• Pump gas and add water to radiator, oil to crankcase, and air to tires.
• Replace lamp bulbs.
• Operate and maintain motorized equipment in support of maintenance, grounds, or building trades crews.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid Driver's License to drive in New York State.
