About the position
This position is located at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, which is a subordinate installation of the Joint Munitions Command (JMC). The JMC provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war, supporting the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. The role involves operating truck tractors with semi-trailers, full trailers, and buses to transport cargo and/or passengers safely.
Responsibilities
- Operate vehicles over public roads to transport passengers, hazardous or non-hazardous materials, and equipment in all traffic conditions.
- Perform maintenance on vehicles in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
- Assist with loading and unloading various cargo and materials.
- Perform visual inspection of cargo to ensure vehicle capacity is not exceeded.
Requirements
- Must possess a Commercial Driver's License, Type A with Hazardous endorsement.
- Ability to handle munitions and explosives.
- Transport one or more passengers on at least a weekly basis.
- Control and extinguish fires and/or perform rescue duties.
- Must be capable of moderate to heavy physical effort to load and unload items by hand and to operate hand and foot controls on vehicles and equipment.
