About the position
The New York State Education Department's (NYSED) Office of Education Policy is seeking candidates for a Motor Vehicle Operator (substitute) position in the New York State School for the Deaf (NYSSD). Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Transport students in a school bus; Map routes, itineraries, and points of call; Post manifests of people transported; Maintain vehicle records as per NYSED and NYSSD directives; and Inspect vehicles as required and note defects.

Requirements
- Possess a New York State Commercial Driver's License with 'P' and 'S' endorsements
- Either possess 19-A certification or obtain 19-A certification within 90 days of appointment
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with deaf students
- Ability to communicate through ASL/Sign Language
