About the position
The Motor Vehicle Operator Supervisor at Anniston Army Depot is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of vehicle operations, ensuring efficient scheduling and management of personnel. This role involves planning work schedules, instructing subordinates, investigating productivity issues, and maintaining compliance with regulations. The supervisor will also be involved in performance evaluations and employee counseling, making it a critical position for maintaining operational standards and employee performance.
Responsibilities
- Plans daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates.
- Determines how many assignments can be done concurrently and the number and types of employees needed.
- Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures; instructs subordinates in new procedures.
- Investigates work-related problems to identify causes and implements corrective actions.
- Develops performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and conducts performance appraisals.
- Counsels employees on problems and adjudicates informal complaints through discussions.
- Maintains necessary documentation pertaining to compliance with hazardous materials/waste regulations.
Requirements
- Ability to perform the work of a Motor Vehicle Operator Supervisor without more than normal supervision.
- Experience in exercising full supervisory responsibility over a group of employees and work operations.
- Ability to provide general instructions, work assignments, and standard procedures.
