About the position
The Moulder Operator at Carter Lumber is responsible for setting up and operating machinery to produce custom and stock moulding. This role requires ensuring that knives are accurately placed in machines, maintaining lumber quality, and producing high-quality moulding while adhering to safety regulations. A strong commitment to the company's mission and goals is essential.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and ensures machinery is in good condition.
- Places knives in machine according to design template to produce custom and stock moulding.
- Ensures custom orders are to customer's or stock product's specifications.
- Ensures all orders are completed accurately and according to schedule.
- Maintains inventory on stock moulding.
- Ensures lumber meets quality standards and specifications.
- Audits quality and reports daily production tallies to the Production Manager.
- Adheres to safety requirements when operating tools and equipment.
- Handles material in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Reports any defects or safety issues immediately.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Possess knowledge in using a variety of tools.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work unsupervised.
- Ability to do repetitious work.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
