About the position

The Mountain School Lead plays a crucial role in supporting ski and snowboard school operations, focusing on guest service and coordination. This position involves high interaction with guests, assisting with various functions such as lesson check-in/out, instructor support, and managing group activities. The role requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments, ensuring a smooth operation of mountain school activities while providing excellent service to guests of all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate with Lesson Supervisors and the Sales and Rentals supervisor to support daily lesson operations
  • Assist the line-up supervisor at program line-ups, liaising with instructors accordingly
  • Answer customer service questions for guests, directing them to the correct mountain school facilities
  • Work with and coordinate mountain school rental shop team to provide ski and rental equipment to guests
  • Support the attendant at the Lesson Center
  • Maintain knowledge of lesson booking process and rental shop process flows, making, reviewing, and updating lesson and rental purchases using RTP
  • Use FLAIK and Workday to assist with team scheduling
  • Maintain indoor spaces
  • Support instructors and guests at lunch, organizing tables and groups
  • Liaise with other departments including Tickets, Food and Beverage as required
  • Address guests' concerns in a fast-paced environment, escalating issues to management when necessary
  • Travel up the canyon at early hours for avalanche control work or before canyon road closures
  • Stay overnight at the resort if required
  • Work outside in winter conditions
  • Perform other related tasks within the scope of Mountain School Operations

Requirements

  • Strong guest service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in high-stress scenarios
  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors
  • Comfortable working with children
  • Well-developed time management skills
  • Practical knowledge of RTP and FLAIK
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office and related apps
  • Experience in daily operations similar to the job description
  • Knowledge of Snowsports and the Ski industry is a bonus
  • Ability to ski or snowboard is a distinct plus
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • At least 18 years of age

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous consistent use of RTP and FLAIK
  • Local knowledge of the ski industry
