Responsibilities

• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Mount hoist on truck: drilling, bolting, welding, plumbing, wiring.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer's specifications.

Requirements

• Knowledge in welding, drilling, use of pneumatic tools, use of fixtures and instructions.
• Use of overhead cranes.
• Truck maintenance mechanic knowledge an advantage.
• Routing and plumbing hydraulics.
• Ability to read installation instructions, follow checklists.
• Proven experience in vocational body-building/upfitting is an advantage and will be reflected in rate of pay.
• Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
• Information Ordering - The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.
• Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
• Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• Multilimb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting, standing, or lying down.
• Control Precision - The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.

Nice-to-haves

• Post-Secondary Certificate - awarded for training completed after high school: ASE, welding, truck or vehicle maintenance.
• Proven experience in upfitting or vocational body building.
