About the position

The Freelance Editor position at MovieWeb.com involves editing and publishing a minimum of 8 movie and TV articles daily. The role focuses on managing writer communication, providing feedback, and ensuring content quality while meeting publication goals. This position is remote and requires participation in writer development and management.

Responsibilities

• Edit and publish a minimum of 8 movie/TV articles per day on the Movie/TV News team
• Assure there is content to be published and planned on current News topics
• Participate in writer development and general writer management
• Oversee and facilitate writer communication in Slack/Asana
• Send feedback to writers according to MovieWeb's standards (as per our writing guides)
• Work with new writers to develop their skills and help them adapt to MovieWeb's standards
• Work with existing writers to develop those suitable for internal development (staff writing, self-publishing, editing)
• Auditing Content Value and implementing best practices
• Ensure daily and monthly News output goals are met
• Ideation and news sourcing support
• Must be available weekends

Requirements

• Proven experience in editing and publishing articles
• Strong knowledge of popular Movie/TV content
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage and develop writers
• Familiarity with tools like Slack and Asana

• Familiarity with SEO best practices
