The MP&L Manager at Modine Manufacturing Company is responsible for overseeing production planning activities to align with customer demand, managing inbound material flows, and coordinating outbound shipments. This role aims to meet inventory targets and ensure customer satisfaction through on-time delivery and minimal customer PPM. The position requires strong leadership in purchasing, supply planning, warehousing, and material control, while also fostering a positive safety culture within the team.

  • Lead the Purchasing, Supply planning, Warehousing, and Plant material control and customer service teams.
  • Oversee production scheduling activities and communicate with operations to meet customer demand.
  • Produce monthly production and inventory plans to achieve annual targets and meet customer delivery expectations.
  • Create and execute a Plan for Every Part (PFEP) strategy to optimize inventory levels.
  • Develop stocking strategies based on product segmentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align inventory strategy with factory footprint.
  • Partner with SIOP organization to align monthly production, sales, and inventory planning schedules.
  • Manage material planning and purchasing staff to ensure procurement follows standard operating procedures.
  • Develop and implement inventory practices and controls to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Interface with sales and operations leadership at supplying partners to meet planning requirements.
  • Identify solutions to supply chain challenges in collaboration with engineering, procurement, and quality teams.
  • Leverage lean manufacturing concepts to improve material flow and warehousing operations.
  • Maintain a positive safety culture within the MP&L team and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  • Ensure organization and cleanliness in material storage areas through daily 5S activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of overall business experience, preferably in procurement or manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Excellent decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in computer applications and experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities to manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Visionary mindset with the ability to anticipate industry trends and drive innovative solutions.
  • Hands-on, collaborative approach with a willingness to work directly alongside the team.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts.
