About the position

The MRI Engineer/Research Associate at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is responsible for developing quantitative MRI methods that are crucial for cancer diagnosis and response assessment. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to innovate and implement new MRI technologies, including deep learning approaches, into clinical practice. The position requires strong programming skills and the ability to communicate findings effectively to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop quantitative MRI methods for cancer diagnosis and response assessment.
  • Collaborate with MSK Radiologists on pulse sequence programming and optimization.
  • Implement new MRI technology into clinical scanners through software development.
  • Interpret and communicate insights from analysis and experiments to managers.
  • Participate in running imaging experiments and troubleshooting software defects.
  • Build effective working relationships with cross-functional team members.
  • Contribute to technical design documentation and testing protocols.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related area.
  • Background in MRI physics, pulse sequence programming, optimization methods, and deep learning is a plus.
  • Expertise in computer programming with Matlab, Python, and C++.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GE EPIC pulse sequence programming.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
