About the position

The MRI Externship Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the clinical component of the MRI Program, ensuring successful student placements and maintaining relationships with clinical sites. This role involves high-level planning, organization, and communication, as well as tutoring and coaching students to prepare them for certification exams. The Coordinator also assists in employment placement for MRI students and provides instructional support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the clinical manager in utilizing clinical facilities to meet program outcomes.
• Research and prioritize prospective contractual sites for clinical placements.
• Establish and maintain positive public relations with clinical site personnel.
• Identify and resolve problems related to the MRI program and clinical training sites.
• Ensure compliance with outpatient clinical/hospital requirements and orientation paperwork.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding curriculum and externship sites.
• Track daily site visits and maintain a mileage spreadsheet for reimbursement.
• Secure facilities for clinical rotations and maintain relationships with clinical sites.
• Visit students at clinical sites weekly to monitor progress and maintain documentation.
• Coach students in employability skills and assist with career development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Three years of occupational experience in MRI or related field.
• Valid ARRT or ARMRIT certification.
• Experience in teaching or tutoring in the MRI field.
