About the position

The MRI Tech plays a crucial role in performing optimal MRI procedures while ensuring high-quality care for patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics. This position requires the technician to take call and adjust shifts as necessary to meet the demands of the department. The MRI Tech is responsible for maintaining effective department workflow, especially during periods of high patient volume, and is expected to perform other duties as assigned. The role demands a strong understanding of human growth and development, as well as the ability to provide Magnetic Resonance Imaging services competently for patients of all ages. The technician must be able to work under stress and maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with upset or uncooperative patients, as well as in interactions with colleagues and staff members. Excellent customer service skills and effective communication abilities are essential for relating to physicians, peers, and patients on both professional and technical levels.

Responsibilities

  • Perform optimal MRI procedures for patients of all ages.
  • Provide high-quality care and maintain effective department workflow during high demand periods.
  • Take call and modify shifts as necessary to meet departmental needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development in providing MRI services.
  • Maintain a professional attitude when dealing with upset or uncooperative patients.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with physicians, peers, and patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of clinical experience as an MRI technologist in a hospital setting preferred.
  • ARRT (R) Registered required.
  • ARRT (MR) Registered or registry eligible, certification required within 6 months of hire date.
  • BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Healthcare Provider (HCP) - AHA approved required.
