About the position

Focus Staff is seeking a highly motivated and energetic travel MRI Technologist for a contract assignment in Gadsden, Alabama. This position is for a duration of 13 weeks and requires the technologist to work night shifts, specifically 8-hour shifts. The MRI Technologist will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, the technologist will perform related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care while utilizing efficient and safe processes. The role involves keying commands to specify scan sequences into the computer, adjusting transmitters and receivers, and entering data on the camera's keyboard to photograph images. The MRI Technologist will also interview patients to explain the MRI procedures, addressing any concerns they may have, and must exhibit a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors. Ensuring patient and staff safety is paramount, which includes explaining safety protocols, requesting the removal of hazardous metal objects, alerting staff of potential dangers, and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV. Additionally, the MRI Technologist will be responsible for orienting new hires and training MRI Technologist students and trainees. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed MRI Technologist with at least 2 years of continuous recent experience working 20 hours or more per week.
  • Fully proficient in all duties required of an MRI Technologist II.
  • Knowledge of required protocols in performing complex MRI procedures.
  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
  • 2 years of hospital experience in a clinical area.
