About the position

Focus Staff is seeking a highly motivated and energetic travel MRI Technologist for a contract assignment in Idaho Falls, Idaho. This position is for a 13-week temporary role, requiring the technologist to work 12-hour night shifts, specifically on a 3x12 schedule. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist, working a minimum of twenty hours per week, and must be fully proficient in all duties required of an MRI Technologist II. The role involves operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, the MRI Technologist will perform related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care while utilizing efficient and safe processes. This includes keying commands to specify scan sequences into the computer, adjusting transmitters and receivers, and entering data on the camera's keyboard to photograph images. The technologist will also interview patients to explain the MRI procedures, addressing any concerns they may have, and must exhibit a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors. Safety is a critical aspect of this role; the MRI Technologist will ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols, requesting the removal of hazardous metal objects, alerting staff of potential dangers, and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV. Additionally, the technologist will be responsible for orienting new hires and training MRI Technologist students and trainees. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must have a valid MRI Technologist license.
  • At least 2 years of continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist, working a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • Fully proficient in all duties required of an MRI Technologist II.
  • Knowledge of required protocols in performing complex MRI procedures.
  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
  • 2 years of hospital experience in a clinical area.
