About the position

Focus Staff is seeking a highly motivated and energetic travel MRI Technologist for a contract assignment in Titusville, Florida. This position is designed for individuals who are fully licensed and proficient in MRI technology, with a minimum of two years of continuous recent experience in the field. The role involves operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. The MRI Technologist will work under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, exercising independent judgment and initiative to ensure optimal diagnostic quality and patient care. The MRI Technologist will be responsible for performing complex MRI procedures, ensuring patient safety, and providing high-quality diagnostic services. This includes keying commands to specify scan sequences, adjusting transmitters and receivers, and photographing images. The technologist will also interview patients to explain the MRI procedures, address any concerns, and maintain a high level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors. Additionally, the role includes orienting and training new hires, students, and trainees in MRI technology. This travel position is a temporary contract lasting 13 weeks, with a shift schedule of 4x10 days. Responsibilities

  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform complex MRI procedures and ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and address their concerns.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients during procedures.
  • Key commands to specify scan sequences into the computer and adjust transmitters and receivers as needed.
  • Orient and train new hires, students, and trainees in MRI technology.
  • Maintain a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed MRI Technologist with at least 2 years of continuous recent experience.
  • Fully proficient in all duties required of an MRI Technologist II.
  • Knowledge of required protocols in performing complex MRI procedures.
  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
  • At least 2 years of hospital experience in a clinical area.
