About the position

Focus Staff is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a travel job in Bridgeport, West Virginia. This position is for a highly motivated and energetic MRI Technologist who will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. The role requires the technologist to work under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, with the ability to exercise independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in performing related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care. The contract assignment is for 13 weeks, with a shift of 14 hours during the day, and the start date is ASAP. The MRI Technologist will be expected to have at least two years of continuous recent experience in the field, working a minimum of twenty hours per week. Proficiency in MRI procedures and knowledge of required protocols is essential. The technologist will also be responsible for interviewing patients to explain the MRI procedures, addressing any concerns, and ensuring patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients via closed circuit TV. Additionally, the role includes orienting new hires and training MRI Technologists, students, and trainees. Responsibilities

  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures and address their concerns.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients via closed circuit TV.
  • Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed MRI Technologist with at least 2 years of hospital experience in a clinical area.
  • Fully proficient in MRI and knowledgeable of required protocols for performing complex MRI procedures.
  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with patients, staff, and visitors with tact, courtesy, and poise.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a travel healthcare position is preferred.
  • Additional certifications in MRI technology or related fields.
