About the position

Focus Staff is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a travel job in Wichita, Kansas. This position is designed for a highly motivated and energetic individual who is fully licensed and proficient in MRI technology. The contract assignment is for 13 weeks, with a shift schedule of 4x10 days. The MRI Technologist will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, the technologist will perform related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care while utilizing efficient and safe processes. The role requires the technologist to operate imaging and other equipment devices, ensuring that quality diagnostic services are provided. This includes keying commands to specify scan sequences into the computer, adjusting transmitters and receivers, and entering data on the camera's keyboard to photograph images. The MRI Technologist will also interview patients to explain the magnetic resonance imaging procedures, addressing any concerns they may have, and must exhibit a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors. Safety is a critical aspect of this role; the technologist will ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols, requesting the removal of hazardous metal objects, alerting staff of potential dangers, and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV. Additionally, the MRI Technologist will be responsible for orienting new hires and training MRI Technologists, students, and trainees. Requirements

  • Must be a licensed MRI Technologist with at least 2 years of hospital experience in a clinical area.

  • Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
  • Must have two years of continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist, working at least twenty hours per week.
