The intra-operative 3.0t MR scanner is employed for a variety of surgical, anesthesia, inpatient, and outpatient exams, highlighting the department's commitment to advanced medical imaging practices. The role requires the technologist to perform magnetic resonance imaging examinations, assess vein/site selection, and initiate venipuncture as per established standards. The technologist must document venipuncture sites and contrast in the Radiology Information System (RIS) according to departmental guidelines. A strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy is essential, as the technologist must recognize anatomical landmarks and abnormalities, alerting the radiologist as necessary. Adherence to departmental policies, quality assurance programs, and safety standards is crucial in maintaining a safe and effective imaging environment. This position also includes a call requirement, with the technologist expected to be on call for one weekend every five weeks and Monday through Thursday every seven weeks. The sign-on bonus of $20,000 for candidates with over one year of experience, or $15,000 for those with less, reflects the hospital's commitment to attracting qualified professionals. Additionally, relocation assistance is available for candidates moving from outside the metro St. Louis area. The position offers a full-time schedule with day shifts, and the successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team in an academic and Level 1 Trauma facility, ensuring a rewarding career in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Performs magnetic resonance imaging examinations.
  • Assesses for vein/site selection and initiates venipuncture per established standards.
  • Documents venipuncture site/contrast in RIS per established departmental guidelines.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and recognizes abnormalities, alerting the radiologist as needed.
  • Observes established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited MR program and MR Certification eligible.
  • 1 year of experience preferred but new graduates are welcome.
  • Required certifications include BLS and ARRT; additional certification in MR preferred or graduation from an accredited MR program. MR certification must be earned within twelve months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility.
  • Familiarity with Siemens MRI scanners.
