About the position
The Mobile Response Stabilization Services (MRSS) Counselor plays a crucial role in providing immediate crisis response and stabilization services to families in Union County. This position involves working collaboratively with a Parent Peer support to assess and develop appropriate ongoing care plans for families experiencing mental health or substance use crises. The counselor will engage in both mobile and in-office follow-up care, ensuring that families receive the necessary support and resources during their time of need.
Responsibilities
- Provide mobile crisis response and stabilization services to families in need.
- Conduct assessments to determine appropriate ongoing care plans.
- Deliver substance use and mental health counseling as required.
- Engage in case management and treatment planning for clients referred to Maryhaven.
- Follow up with families for up to four weeks or until a warm hand-off to the appropriate level of care is made.
- Maintain on-call availability for families identified in need, scheduled on a rotation basis.
- Collaborate with Parent Peer support to enhance service delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work, human service, or behavioral science.
- Two years of experience in the field of chemical dependence or mental health treatment.
- Valid State of Ohio LSW, LPC, or higher required.
- Two years of paid full-time experience in the field of chemical dependency or mental health treatment or equivalent.
