About the position

The position involves enabling children to continue their education effectively in the absence of their regular teacher. The role requires teaching lessons prepared by the absent teacher, maintaining classroom routines, and ensuring appropriate student behavior throughout the school day. The substitute teacher will also be responsible for reporting daily activities and maintaining good relations with faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and schedule with the principal or designated teacher before the teaching day.
• Teach lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
• Report daily activities in writing and provide feedback as requested by the building principal.
• Follow all school and CSUSA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Consult with the building principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson not specified in the teacher's plans.
• Maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms.
• Oversee pupil behavior in class and during other times as requested.
• Maintain appropriate student behavior throughout the school day.
• Maintain good relations with faculty and staff and treat information about students and staff with confidentiality.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
• Completion of District's Substitute Workshop.
• Commitment to company values.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a classroom setting as a substitute teacher or similar role.
