About the position

The MS Daily Substitute Teacher at Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) plays a crucial role in ensuring that students continue their education smoothly in the absence of their regular teacher. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about inspiring young learners and are committed to the mission of providing an academically rigorous education. The substitute teacher will follow the lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, maintain classroom routines, and manage student behavior, all while adhering to the policies and procedures of the school and CSUSA.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans and schedules with the principal or designated teacher before the teaching day.
• Teaches lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
• Reports daily activities in writing and provides feedback as requested by the principal.
• Follows all school and CSUSA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Consults with the principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson not specified in the teacher's plans.
• Maintains established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms assigned.
• Oversees pupil behavior in class and during the school day as requested.
• Maintains appropriate student behavior throughout the school day.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of District's Substitute Workshop.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment toward the job and the mission of the company.
• Ability to work and interact with staff at all levels of the organization.
• Strong time management skills including prioritizing, organizing, and scheduling.
• Basic computer skills including Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
