About the position

As a Middle School Language Arts Teacher at Charter Schools USA (CSUSA), you will be part of a dedicated team committed to inspiring and motivating young learners. Your role will involve creating and implementing a flexible educational program that fosters student learning and personal growth. You will develop lesson plans, maintain student records, and utilize various teaching strategies to maximize educational achievement, all while ensuring a positive classroom environment that aligns with CSUSA's mission of student greatness.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the company's philosophy and goals.
  • Create purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that maximize teaching effectiveness.
  • Present subject matter to students to enhance learning opportunities with real-world examples.
  • Review student records to understand each student's abilities and needs.
  • Strive to maximize the educational achievement of each student.
  • Utilize a variety of student learning modalities and differentiated instruction in lessons.
  • Conduct frequent diagnostic assessments of student learning.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records.
  • Assess student strengths and weaknesses and provide appropriate activities to address their needs.
  • Refer students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
  • Assign lessons, correct student work, and review oral presentations.
  • Coordinate class field trips as required.
  • Prepare students for state-required achievement assessments.
  • Stay current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory.
  • Assist in the ongoing curriculum revision process.
  • Assist in the selection of instructional materials and resources.
  • Foster a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
  • Maintain positive rapport with students and demonstrate patience and nurturing.
  • Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and displays student-generated work appropriately.
  • Implement policies governing student conduct and develop reasonable classroom behavior rules.
  • Participate in curriculum planning with other staff members.
  • Incorporate diagnostic information from students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs) into lesson planning.
  • Protect supplies, equipment, and materials needed for effective instruction.
  • Establish cooperative relations and communicate with parents/guardians when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • Possession of valid teaching certification (as appropriate).
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of successful teaching experience (may include Student Teaching Internship experience).
  • Command of grades/subject-specific content and theoretical knowledge of learning theory.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office, Student Information System (SIS), and email communications.
  • Commitment to company values and ethical standards.
