About the position

Cognizant is seeking a dedicated Sr. Test Analyst with 2 to 4 years of experience in software testing, particularly with MS Power BI. This full-time position is based in Charlotte, NC, and focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of software products. The role involves comprehensive testing, developing test plans, and collaborating with development teams to deliver high-quality solutions to clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive testing of software applications to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications.
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various software applications.
• Identify, document, and track defects and issues, ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand the functionality and design of the software applications.
• Provide detailed reports on testing activities including test results, defect status, and overall quality metrics.
• Utilize MS Power BI to create and maintain dashboards and reports for tracking testing progress and outcomes.
• Participate in requirement analysis and design review meetings to provide input on testability and quality.
• Ensure that all testing activities are conducted in accordance with established processes and standards.
• Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Mentor and guide junior testers, providing support and sharing best practices.
• Work closely with project managers to ensure timely delivery of testing milestones.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks and tools.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in testing technologies.

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on MS Power BI.
• Proficiency in developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Experience in identifying, documenting, and tracking defects and issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (nice to have).
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies (nice to have).
• Ability to mentor and guide junior testers.
