About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Plano, TX. This position is critical for managing and maintaining our SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration and a proven track record of supporting production environments. As a Senior DBA, you will be responsible for configuring and maintaining database servers and processes, monitoring system health and performance, and providing 24x7 support for critical production systems. You will also be expected to analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing suggestions for solutions and refining and automating regular processes. Your role will involve assisting developers with query tuning and schema refinement, as well as performing scheduled maintenance and supporting release deployment activities after hours. This position requires a proactive approach to database management and a commitment to ensuring high levels of performance and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage SQL Server Databases

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
  • Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server database management
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues
  • Familiarity with SSIS packages and jobs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions
  • Knowledge of database security best practices
  • Familiarity with other database technologies (e.g., Oracle, MySQL)
