About the position

The MS SQL ETL Developer at HDR will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining various ETL projects that involve data movement and transformation. This position requires collaboration with the Team Lead to engage with internal clients, discovering their requirements and high-level needs. The developer will be responsible for designing robust ETL solutions that incorporate complex data sources, including secure file transfers, RESTful APIs, and various database sources. The role demands a high degree of technical expertise and creativity to develop data flows and ensure final integration into the data estate, while also providing the necessary governance and security for the final product. In this position, the MS SQL ETL Developer will leverage their knowledge of HDR's database systems and business environment to provide insights and information through well-designed data repositories and data warehouses. The developer will engage with internal teams to ensure that the data design aligns with a larger vision, contributing to the overall architecture of the data systems. The role requires a proactive approach, with the ability to take ownership of tasks while also seeking assistance when necessary. The developer must be adept at managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment, often under tight delivery schedules. Excellent client service, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to simplify technical jargon for non-technical clients. Responsibilities

• Create and maintain various ETL projects involving data movement and transformation.
• Collaborate with the Team Lead to discover internal client requirements and high-level needs.
• Design robust ETL solutions that involve complex data sources such as secure file transfer and RESTful APIs.
• Develop and provide expertise in HDR's database and business environment.
• Leverage knowledge of existing HDR database systems to enhance data processes.
• Provide input around data governance and security for final products.
• Design data repositories and data warehouses with best practices in mind.
• Engage internal teams for larger data design visions.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Technical degree in Computer Science or closely related field, or combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience as Microsoft SQL Server Developer.
• Experience in designing and architecting databases is required.
• Possess and apply knowledge of database principles and practices.
• Ability to take direction and ownership of tasks, asking for help when needed.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Excellent client service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to simplify technical jargon for non-technical clients.
• Ability to perform tasks in a dynamic environment under tight delivery schedules.
