About the position
The MS SQL & Power BI Developer will play a crucial role in transforming data into meaningful visualizations and actionable insights. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, designing and developing dashboards, and optimizing SQL queries for efficient data retrieval. The developer will also be responsible for ensuring data accuracy and consistency across visualizations, providing technical support, and maintaining SQL-based reports.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and objectives.
- Work with users to understand business processes, gather/document project requirements, and translate them into reports and applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain Tableau and Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Implement best practices for data visualization and user experience.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across Tableau and Power BI visualizations.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing SQL queries for performance improvements.
- Provide technical support to end-users and assist in troubleshooting reporting related issues.
- Develop and maintain SQL based reports in SSRS.
- Provide overall administration, configuration, security, and maintenance of the BI environment.
Requirements
- 3+ years of overall experience with SQL.
- 3+ years report development and analytics experience using Microsoft Power BI and Tableau.
- Strong understanding of data visualization.
- Technical oversight in delivering BI best practices, data integration, security, and data quality.
Nice-to-haves
- Progress Database knowledge is a plus.
