About the position

As a MS SQL & Power BI Developer at RSCC Wire & Cable LLC, you will be responsible for transforming data into meaningful visualizations and actionable insights. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, designing and developing dashboards, and optimizing SQL queries for efficient data retrieval. You will play a crucial role in ensuring data accuracy and consistency across various reporting tools, primarily Power BI and Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and objectives.
• Work with users to understand business processes, gather/document project requirements, and translate them into reports and applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain Tableau and Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Implement best practices for data visualization and user experience.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across Tableau and Power BI visualizations.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing SQL queries for performance improvements.
• Provide technical support to end-users and assist in troubleshooting reporting-related issues.
• Develop and maintain SQL-based reports in SSRS.
• Administer, configure, secure, and maintain the BI environment, including monitoring performance and troubleshooting problems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of overall experience with SQL.
• 3+ years report development and analytics experience using Microsoft Power BI and Tableau.
• Strong understanding of data visualization principles.
• Experience with SSRS and SSIS.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of BI capabilities and trends to identify opportunities for BI solutions.
• Progress Database knowledge is a plus.
