About the position

The MS SQL Server Azure DBA position is focused on database administration for MS SQL Server 2017 and above, with an emphasis on cloud migration and high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) setups. The role requires expertise in configuring Azure cloud services and managing SQL databases effectively, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Administer MS SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Manage cloud migration processes and set up high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions.
• Configure Always On Availability Groups (AOAG) in Azure Cloud.
• Set up Auto Failover Groups on SQL Managed Instances.
• Implement backup and restore techniques for database management.
• Configure SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Maintain knowledge of Azure Cloud services including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of MS SQL Server 2017 and above database administration.
• Working knowledge of cloud migration and HA/DR setup.
• Experience with AOAG setup in Azure Cloud.
• Familiarity with Auto Failover Group setup on SQL Managed Instances.
• Knowledge of backup and restore techniques.
• Experience with SSRS and SSIS configuration.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of ports, networks, virtual networks (Vnets), security groups, and firewalls.
