About the position

The MSP IT Service Engineer Data Center role is focused on providing technical support and operational management for data center services. This position involves ensuring compliance with company guidelines, managing IT support for internal and client systems, and overseeing a team of IT Service Engineers. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining system security, managing client relationships, and delivering high-quality service to meet client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment and communicate the need for repairs or replacements to management.
  • Direct, administer, and control hourly operations and activities of facilities and programs in an assigned area.
  • Ensure compliance with established company and regulatory guidelines and procedures.
  • Contribute to a strong communications process between all managers and staff within the area and across the division.
  • Address adverse events and action thresholds in the area of responsibility.
  • Provide IT support for internal systems and network infrastructure issues.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for escalation of customer tickets.
  • Support Microsoft-related technologies including Windows Servers, Workstations, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint.
  • Support virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware, and Scale Computing.
  • Provide advanced technical services at the network level including WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, servers, firewalls, and security.
  • Manage and deliver project work such as Office 365 migrations and network build-outs.
  • Conduct audits of client infrastructure and security, providing feedback and recommendations.
  • Support third-party solutions implemented at clients, including AV, 2FA, and SIEM.
  • Recommend and administer cloud solutions for customers.
  • Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Monitor and respond to alerts from remote management and monitoring systems.
  • Communicate with client end-users about incident progress and changes.
  • Manage a team of IT Service Engineers, providing guidance and support.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships as the primary contact for IT issues.
  • Plan, design, and implement network and infrastructure solutions aligned with client needs.
  • Monitor and maintain system security and compliance to protect client data.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and project status.
  • Cross-collaborate with the sales team to develop client solutions.
  • Assist with project planning and resource estimation for new projects.
  • Oversee day-to-day operational, product/solution, and service delivery functions.

Requirements

  • Experience in IT support and data center operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Windows Servers and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and VMware.
  • Proficient in network services including WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, and firewalls.
  • Ability to manage and deliver IT projects effectively.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience in managing a team of IT professionals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft, VMware).
