The MSSQL Database Administrator plays a crucial role within a collaborative team environment, focusing on the maintenance, optimization, and technical support of enterprise and business-level databases. This position is responsible for overseeing multiple servers and various versions of database software, ensuring the smooth operation of databases that support enterprise and business applications, as well as custom data warehouses. The primary database systems managed include Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. The incumbent will also serve as a backup or secondary administrator for other database systems, performing specific duties as required for those databases. In this role, the Database Administrator will be tasked with ensuring the integrity, performance, and security of the databases. This includes responsibilities such as installation, configuration, patch management, and troubleshooting of database systems. The position requires a strong understanding of relational database concepts and the ability to write and optimize SQL queries. The incumbent will also need to be familiar with IT infrastructure hardware as it relates to database architecture, including servers, storage, networking, and backups.
