About the position
The position involves advanced clinical social work practice within a medical setting, focusing on enhancing the social, psychosocial, and bio-psychosocial functioning of individuals, couples, families, and groups. The role requires applying specialized clinical knowledge and skills in prevention, assessment, and treatment of various disorders, while also engaging in multi-disciplinary treatment planning and coordinating complex discharge plans.
Responsibilities
- Interviews and assesses patients and assists throughout the patient care plan.
- Identifies and provides helpful resources to patients and families.
- Maintains patient records and documents and communicates critical information to the medical team.
- Participates in on-call rotation.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and communication style.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Master's degree in social work (MSW).
- Certified Social Worker (CSW) or Registered Social Worker (RSW) certification required.
- Preferred: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- 5 years of related experience in a medical social work field.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a medical social work field.
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) preferred or must schedule and pass LMSW exam within 6 months of employment.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
