About the position
Franciscan Health Dyer is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) to join our team. This position is located at 24 Joliet St., Dyer, IN 46311, and operates on a midnight shift with a weekend and/or holiday rotation. We are a highly reliable scientific organization dedicated to advancing health, wellness, and continuity of care in the communities we serve. As one of the largest integrated laboratory networks in the Midwest, we serve 32 hospitals and multiple physician offices. The successful candidate will be responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results. Testing will include waived, moderate, and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director. The individual will report results according to established procedures and participate in all quality control procedures, complying with quality assurance and quality management standards as outlined by the department and relevant agencies such as JCAHO, CAP, and CLIA. Specimen collection may also be required as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results.
- Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director.
- Report results of all tests performed according to established procedures.
- Participate fully in all quality control procedures.
- Comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department.
- Perform specimen collection as necessary.
Requirements
- Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution for MLT.
- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university for MT.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences is acceptable.
- At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.
