They lead the end-to-end (E2E) solution design strategy across teams and partner with other architects across the enterprise. The role makes recommendations for new procedures and overall architectural approach, partnering with senior level Architects. This position works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situation or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. The Solutions Architect exercises judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results, creating formal networks involving coordination among groups, and informally supervising others' work assignments. The Solutions Architect owns solution design for multiple cross-domain initiatives involving data and works across domains to ensure cohesive solutions. They proactively investigate technologies, architectures, design strategies, and standards options to address concerns of new solution offerings prior to creation. This role makes and implements sophisticated decisions aimed at improving the quality, effectiveness, or ability to achieve revenue, profitability, and strategic goals for the organization. The architect leads overall technical design and end-to-end solution design for highly complex initiatives, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment of designs to T-Mobile's standards and digital strategy. They handle multiple initiatives in parallel and lend expertise to Principal and Senior Architects, presenting solution designs to Senior Leadership in IT and Business. In addition, the Solutions Architect prepares and maintains design deliverables that include proofs of concept (POCs), architecture diagrams, data models, and API/micro-service architecture. They build, present, design, and implement new ideas that improve existing or new systems, processes, or services, while also offering new industry views and considerations within the IT organization. The architect analyzes industry trends and competitive moves, determines potential impacts on T-Mobile, and proposes appropriate actions. They proactively identify system weaknesses, determine root causes, and find solutions for improvement, creating complex network and service architecture, design strategies, and standards. The Solutions Architect possesses a deep understanding of multiple technologies and disciplines required to complete architecture design work, applying extensive knowledge of the various systems used in the T-Mobile environment and maintaining awareness of current technology benefits. They represent T-Mobile's view on technology issues in public forums and supervise the writing of advanced documentation, architecture, capabilities, limitations, and advantages for technologies.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Master's/Advanced Degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • 7-10 years of related work experience.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in software engineering/enterprise architecture/technology leadership.
  • 7-10 years of experience working in solutions design and enterprise architecture delivering IT solutions.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Enterprise applications, PLM, middle-tier services, database, storage, distributed computing, virtualization, and/or application technology.
  • Strong knowledge in Software Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Technical Leadership, and Cloud Architecture.

Nice-to-haves
