About the position

The MTS (Manufacturing Technical Support) Technician at Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Inc. is responsible for providing technical support to the manufacturing organization, focusing on the installation, repair, and maintenance of production equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of plant activities and achieving manufacturing goals related to safety, cost, quality, and customer service. The position operates on a 2nd shift schedule, with potential overtime on Fridays and occasional Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies safety hazards within the building and incorporates remediation to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Troubleshoots electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to identify faulty components.
  • Maintains, modifies, and troubleshoots compressor HVAC test stands, chillers, and cooling towers.
  • Implements processes as defined by manufacturing engineering.
  • Installs, maintains, and modifies piping systems, pumps, and valves.
  • Observes and tests machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions using various test equipment.
  • Analyzes test results and machine error messages to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Repairs and maintains Fanuc/ABB Robotics and CNC Machines, including DMG Mori Machining Centers.
  • Completes assigned Preventative Maintenance actions in a timely manner and logs completion status into the PM system.
  • Installs and maintains hydraulic circuits in industrial equipment.
  • Participates in root cause failure analysis investigations.
  • Models Danfoss's core values and ensures compliance with all standards.
  • Works independently with little supervision and executes tasks safely and timely.
  • Collaborates effectively with the MTS team and Operations team to achieve desired results.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years hands-on industrial maintenance or commercial service experience required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience reading precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, levels, lasers, etc.

Nice-to-haves

  • Formal technical training/certifications or 2+ years of secondary education.
  • HVAC experience highly preferred.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electronic or hydraulic drawings, schematics, and engineering blueprints.
  • Experience with chillers and cooling towers.
  • 3+ years' experience servicing and troubleshooting refrigerant systems.
  • Above average computer skills.
