About the position
As an Armed Security Officer for Emergency Response with Strategic Security Corp (SSC), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of various government sites across Kentucky as part of a Presidential Declaration for a National Response. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $25.00 per hour and involves working in diverse environments, including corporate, retail, and fast food settings. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting armed foot patrols, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, controlling access to facilities, and deterring criminal activity. You will also be expected to provide superior customer service by greeting and engaging with individuals, proactively scanning for potential threats, and maintaining a clean and professional job site. In addition to physical security duties, you will be responsible for composing reports on incidents and suspicious activities, liaising with local law enforcement, and assisting with basic first aid when necessary. The role requires a proactive approach to security, including anticipating and addressing customer inquiries and concerns. Responsibilities
- Conduct armed foot patrols within various environments including government sites, corporate offices, and retail locations.
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to ensure the safety of the premises.
- Control access and egress to facilities, permitting authorized individuals and preventing unauthorized access.
- Deter criminal activity and misconduct through visible presence and proactive engagement.
- Compose reports on incidents, accidents, and suspicious activities, maintaining written logs as required.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and share relevant information with customers and staff.
- Provide superior customer service by greeting, engaging, and thanking individuals for their business.
- Proactively scan for potential threats and assess situations effectively to ensure safety.
- Facilitate guest services, including transportation and inquiries about local attractions.
- Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid Guard Card license or equivalent firearms permits as required by state or locality.
- Experience of 1 year as a security officer is strongly preferred.
- Ability to follow orders and adhere to security protocols.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with active listening abilities.
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to security.
