About the position

The Multi-Store Asset Protection Manager (MAPM) plays a crucial role in safeguarding the assets of The Home Depot by teaching, coaching, and training associates to effectively execute core Asset Protection initiatives. This position is responsible for driving programs and strategies aimed at mitigating theft and fraud, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining safety and environmental compliance across multiple store locations. The MAPM must adeptly manage multiple tasks and collaborate with various stakeholders, including the District Manager, Store Manager, and other store associates, to achieve the goals set by the Asset Protection and Store Operations leadership teams. In this role, the MAPM dedicates a significant portion of their time to addressing internal and external theft and fraud. This includes timely entry of internal cases into the case management system, conducting interviews for identified theft cases, and building partnerships with local law enforcement to enhance the brand's security. The MAPM is also responsible for analyzing shrink performance within the district and implementing initiatives to reduce shrinkage effectively. Another key aspect of the MAPM's responsibilities involves managing people. This includes making hiring decisions, conducting performance reviews, and training associates on theft mitigation processes. The MAPM must ensure that associates are well-versed in safety behaviors and environmental regulations, including the Handling Hazardous Materials program. Finally, the MAPM drives the execution of various protection standards and safety initiatives, ensuring that stores maintain a culture of safety and compliance. This position may require overnight travel, although it is typically less than 10% of the time. The MAPM must also be prepared for physical demands, including walking, standing, and lifting materials, while working primarily in a comfortable indoor environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform timely entry of internal cases into the case management system in accordance with AP Policy, including activity scans and review alerts.
  • Conduct timely interviews for internal theft cases identified by MAPM or Central Investigations Team (CIT).
  • Review and analyze shrink performance within the district and by store location.
  • Build partnerships with local law enforcement to strengthen THD's brand.
  • Make hiring decisions and take disciplinary action including termination, leveraging HR resources.
  • Teach, coach, train, and develop AP associates to ensure theft mitigation processes are executed.
  • Drive execution of the Merchandise Protection Standards (MPS), Pick Ticket, and Lockup programs.
  • Ensure stores are driving a safety culture by promoting safety initiatives.
  • Manage execution of 3rd party guard resources in partnership with DHRM and DM.
  • Conduct performance reviews and utilize performance management to address performance opportunities.

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Associates/Bachelor's degree in related field and/or 3+ years experience in retail AP or related field.
  • 3+ years multi-unit retail AP experience preferred.
  • LPC/LPQ Certification preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, supporting multi-store locations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in conducting internal investigations including interviews.
  • Knowledge of Organized Retail Crime elements and law enforcement partnerships.
  • Experience with physical security and investigations systems (CCTV, Alarm, Exception Based Reporting).
